The Jeddah Municipality is organizing the “Jeddah
Moves” event, Saturday, which comes as part of community participation to
educate the Jeddah community about sports and its important role in promoting
public health, in line with the Quality of Life Program, which is one of the
programs to achieve the Saudi Vision 2030.
The event will start from its main track, which is the
waterfront promenade "Pearl Square", and will host several activities
in addition to the walking walk, where there will be 4 races, three of which are
for a distance of 5 km for the professional, amateur, and women's category, and
a fourth race for a distance of 1 km for the category of children from 5- 12
years.
The winners will be crowned at the end of the day and
each contestant will receive a participation medal.
The event will also include a virtual challenge in the
additional tracks that will be held in several neighborhoods of Jeddah, namely:
Al Yamama Walk, Al Nakhil, Al Rehab, Tahlia, Prince Fawaz Walk, Faisal bin Fahd
Walk, Al Fayhaa, and Al Hamdaniya Walk.
It is noteworthy that participation in the virtual
challenge will be by walking a distance of 5 km in any of the mentioned sites,
while adhering to the conditions of participation, which include downloading
any sports or health application to calculate the distance, time and location,
and sharing the activity on Twitter under the hashtag “Jeddah is moving.”
