A
delegation of the Saudi Karate team has landed in the Kazakh city of Almaty, to
participate in the 17th Asian Karate Championships for adults, and the 19th for
juniors, youth and under 21 karate, and will continue until December 22.
The
Saudi national team opens its campaign in the tournament today, when the junior
class competitions for kata and fighting competitions begin. Mounir Afkir, the
coach of the national team, had chosen 23 players to participate in the
tournament, including Tariq Hamdi, Fahd Al-Khathami, Faraj Al-Nashiri, Imad
Hazazi, Youssef Nayeh, Faisal Al-Otaibi, and Muhammad Bernawi.
The
tournament witnesses the participation of Saudi women for the first time,
represented by Manal Al-Zayd, the player.
