The Women’s Football Department crowned the Jeddah
Eagles, the women’s football team, with the Western Region League champion’s
shield, after the tenth and final round match that it played against its rival,
Al-Leith Al-Abyad, and defeated it (4-1).
The Jeddah Eagles had fiercely defended its lead in
the regional league, which won its championship well through 10 matches, 8
wins, 39 goals, one draw and one loss.
The last match between Meraas and Al-Asifa ended with
the same result, as Al-Asseh managed to win the league runner-up title after
defeating Meraas with four goals scored by Shahd Damas, Raghad Mukhaizin, Dalia
Abu Laban, and Mashael Al-Harbi, the team’s players, against one goal for
Meraas through Hawsawi Kings.
The Union of Power won in the Western Region League
finals over its flaming ball counterpart with a score of 5-1, which achieved
goals in favor of the Union of Power, Renad Al-Sufyani (two goals), Umm Kulthum
Al-Aidarous, Hasna Al-Amri, and Rawya Omar, while the only goal of the burning
ball was scored by Rahaf Al-Barakati.
On the sidelines of the tenth and final round of the
Women’s League in its first edition in the Western Region, the Women’s Football
Department crowned Raghad Mukhaizen, player of the Asifah team, as the best
player in the Western League, and Dalia Abu Laban from the same team, with the
award for best scorer in the regional league, while Hessa Al-Sudairi,
goalkeeper of the team Jeddah Eagles won the title of best goalkeeper in Al
Gharbia.
Thus, the Women’s Regions League has completed its
rounds in all the participating regions (Central, Western, and Eastern), with
the qualified teams meeting in Jeddah to compete in the final qualifiers in
which they face each other in order to kidnap the Kingdom’s first women’s championship,
next January 1 at Madinat Stadium King Abdullah Sports.
