The
Spartan Race will be held on January 21, 2022, and will include obstacle races
for all ages and physical abilities
One of the
biggest fitness challenges in the world returns to Saudi Arabia in January
2022, as Riyadh, through the Saudi Sports for All Federation, prepares to host
the world-famous “Spartan” race.
Inspired
by the warrior culture of ancient Sparta, the Spartan Race, which includes
dozens of challenges and obstacles designed to test your strength, endurance
and perseverance, has become a popular race around the world since its launch
in 2010, with more than 2,500 annual events held around 42 countries.
The first
“Spartan” race in Saudi Arabia was held in Jabal Al-Soudah during the Asir
season in 2019, and attracted more than 1,500 male and female competitors and a
number of attendees. And here is the race returning to the Kingdom on January
21, 2022, where it will be organized in “Maidan Dirab” in Riyadh and will start
from 7 in the morning until 4 in the evening.
Six races will
take place during the event day, giving all members of the community of both
genders and
It
will include a 10-kilometre track, with 25 different obstacles for participants
to overcome, ranging from mud, water, fire and barbed wire.
There will also
be two Spartan Sprint races - the first for women and men, and the second for
women only. Note that both races will be held on a 5-kilometre track, with 20
obstacles in the way for the contestants.
There
will be 3 races for children, each of them targeting a different age group, so
that the race for children aged 4 to 6 years will be on a track with a length
of 800 metres. As for the race for the age group of 7-9 years, it will be for a
distance of 1.6 km, while the distance for the race for children aged 10-14
years will be 3.2 km. All Spartan races will be for children of both sexes.
