A number of world stars in golf announced their
participation in the Saudi International Championship, organized by the Public
Investment Fund, and presented by SoftBank Investment Consulting Group, on
Sunday.
The tournament will start next February at the Royal
Greens Golf Club in King Abdullah Economic City in Jeddah.
The star Patrick Reed, the 2018 professional champion,
returns to Saudi Arabia to participate in the tournament after participating in
all its tournaments since its first launch in 2019.
The participation of Tony Finau, the reigning Ryder
Cup champion in the United States has also been confirmed. The tournament will
also host four of the world's top 10 players, along with a number of new faces including
the debut of Matthew Wolff, one of the world's brightest young talents.
New entrants include Australian trio Cameron Smith,
Mark Leishman and Lucas Herbert.
French Victor Perez plans to join the list of stars to
compete for the prize, which has been raised to 5 million US dollars.
