than 5,000 players from all over the Kingdom will participate
After the massive success of the last national
cricket tournament, the Saudi Sports for All Federation and the Saudi Cricket
Federation have teamed up to launch a new version of the tournament scheduled
to be launched on September 3.
The
tournament will last for four months, with the participation of more than 5,000
players across the major cities in the Kingdom from Riyadh, Dammam, Jubail,
Makkah, Madinah, Neom, Jeddah, Taif, Al-Ahsa, Yanbu, and Tabuk.
On this
occasion, the President of the Saudi Sports for All Federation, His Royal
Highness Prince Khalid bin Al-Waleed bin Talal Al Saud, said: “We would like to
promote cricket in the Kingdom, and the recently concluded National Cricket
Championship motivated us to expand the circle of sports among members of
society by launching it with a consensus mechanism of all. To include beginners
of all ages and abilities.
For his
part, the President of the Saudi Cricket Federation, HRH Prince Saud bin
Mishaal, welcomed this cooperation with the Saudi Sports for All Federation,
saying, “The Saudi Cricket Federation, as the authority responsible for cricket
in the Kingdom, is pleased to organize a new major cricket tournament in
cooperation with the Saudi Sports Federation. For everyone.
His
Highness concluded by saying, “Our goal is to make the practice of cricket more
accessible and easy for all.
The
tournament is one of the initiatives of the Saudi Sports for All Federation to
support the Quality of Life Program 2020, one of the programs to achieve the
Saudi Vision 2030, which aims to increase the percentage of people who engage
in physical activities in the Kingdom to 40% by 2030.
