Yesterday, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz,
Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, crowned Prince
Saud bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, owner of the Emblem Road, the Saudi Equestrian
Cup 2022.
The Crown Prince sponsored the race, in its third
edition, which was hosted by the King Abdulaziz Equestrian Square in Riyadh.
Upon the arrival of Prince Mohammed bin Salman to the field, he was received by
Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Governor of the Riyadh region, and
Prince Abdullah bin Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the ambassador of the
Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Austria and member of the Board of
Directors of the Horse Racing Club. The Crown Prince was accompanied by Prince
Muhammad bin Abdul Rahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Riyadh region,
Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Interior, and
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, Minister of Sports.
The global race witnessed wide attention from the
international media, where the British "Sky Sports" network, through
its horse racing account, stated that the horse "Emblem Road" won the
Saudi Cup title after a perfect start in the last meters, by which he overcame
his delay at the beginning of the race, to win The grand prize, amid a large
interaction of the attendees at the event. While the American “WDRB” network
indicated that the “Emblem Road” horse was able, after a “sweeping” step, to
return from behind, and win the Saudi Cup, the most expensive horse cup in the
world, and the network considered this achievement a great victory for the
Saudi coach, Mutaib Al-Malouh, and the owner, Prince Saud bin Salman Abdul
Aziz.
While the "Associated Press" news agency
monitored the details of the strong and exciting competition between the horse
"Emblem Road" and his competitor, "Country Grammer", who
came second in the race, which was attended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman
bin Abdulaziz.
