opens wrestling with 5 medals
The Saudi freestyle and Romanian wrestling team
launched its participation in the Arab U-17 and U-20 Championships, by winning
five medals in wrestling bouts by achieving two gold, silver and bronze.
The tournament started in the indoor hall in King
Abdulaziz Sports City in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, in the presence of Prince Fahd
bin Jalawi, Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, and
its competitions conclude today.
The tournament will witness the participation of 14
teams: Iraq, Syria, UAE, Jordan, Yemen, Palestine, Sudan, Tunisia, Morocco,
Egypt, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and host Saudi Arabia.
Faisal Al-Dosari, player of the Saudi national team,
won the gold medal in the 60-kg weight competition, and his colleague Mansour
Al-Kaabi won the gold medal in the 82-kg weight category, Munther Hando won the
silver medal in the 55-kg weight category, and Sanad Al-Sabiani won the silver
medal in the 97-kg weight category, and the only bronze came by Misfer
Al-Subaie weighs 67 kg.
