The Saudi Motorsport Company, the promoter of the
Saudi Dakar Rally, which operates under the umbrella of the Saudi Federation of
Cars and Motorcycles, and the “Amore Sport” organization that organizes the
Dakar Rally, announced the opening of receiving applications for participation
in the 45th edition of the Saudi Dakar Rally 2023, starting Monday, June 6 The
deadline for submission of applications will be on the 31st of October.
This edition, which is organized entirely in Saudi
Arabia for the fourth year in a row, features 70 percent new tracks, compared
to the previous three years. The beautiful landscapes and archaeological sites
in Saudi Arabia, and the competitors will face new challenges that will raise
the level of suspense and enthusiasm.
The participants will start arriving in Saudi Arabia
on December 27 and 28, and the 45th edition of the Saudi Dakar Rally will start
through a preliminary stage from a camp on the banks of the Red Sea on December
31, 2022, where the result of which will determine the order of the start of
the first stage on January 1, 2023, after which it will cross The Saudi Rally
runs from west to east, during which competitors pass 14 stages over 15 days of
competition, including 3 stages in the Empty Quarter desert, one of which is
marathon, before they land in Dammam on January 15, 2023, marking the end of
the rally.
The Saudi Dakar Rally 2023 track is the longest for
the special stages subject to timing since 2014, with an estimated distance of
5,000 km, and the length of the special stages ranges between 350-500 km, after
reducing the distance of the connecting stages along the track. Amore Sport
